DescriptionSwisscontact, in consortium with J.E. Austin Associates, is supporting the strengthening of entrepreneurship ecosystem organizations and actors to aid the development of business start-ups and growth-oriented small businesses in Bosnia & Herzegovina (BiH) as part of a global four-year program, financed by SECO (Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs). The viability and sustainability of the entrepreneurship eco-system in are key challenges that will be addressed directly within the framework of Swiss EP. Swiss EP in BiH is committed to implementing interventions tailored to the local context with the aim of achieving higher levels of dynamism and performance in the country’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, and among the individual organizations that make up the eco-system. As an outcome, the eco-system actors will be better equipped to support start-ups and small businesses in improving their operations and overall competitiveness, and contributing to the ultimate goal of the Swiss EP – the creation of jobs and additional income.
Swiss EP will support the strengthening of the entrepreneurship eco-system and individual actors through a variety of interventions:
Increasing the pool of (national and diaspora) mentors and continuously upgrading mentors’ capacities;
Strengthening the business models (viability and sustainability) of business incubators and accelerators;
Identifying and supporting business angel networks, funds and other financial institutions in exploring investment opportunities among start-ups and small businesses;
Raising awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship and its positive contributions to the economy and society (media buzz)
Enhancing the knowledge, experience and capacities of women start-ups, investors, mentors and other women active in the entrepreneurship eco-system and facilitate for international networking among them (Next Generation Woman Bootcamp);
Enhancing the knowledge, experience and capacities of eco-system organizations, investors and other actors in the eco-system and facilitate for international networking among them (peer-to-peer exchange.
